What’s not to love about southern inspired BBQ in paradise? Virgil’s Real Barbecue brings its sumptuous mouth watering BBQ to the Atlantis Paradise Island. New Yorkers may recognize Virgil’s from its NYC location near times square, but don’t be fooled by their New York roots. Virgil’s knows good BBQ.
The portions at Virgil’s BBQ at Atlantis are extremely large and served family style. It is perfect for family dinning or a large group. If family style is too much for you, you can find smaller portions at the bar. You can enjoy Virgil’s for lunch and dinner. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. Prices are very reasonable and the food hits the spot if you are looking for some good old BBQ. Virgil’s is located in the Coral Towers of the Atlantis. The restaurant is open to all, not just guests of the Atlantis. For those on the Atlantis dinning plan, Virgil’s is classified as a casual dinning option and is available under most plans. After dinner you can walk to the Atlantis Casino or head to the Marina Village to listen to the live bands at Bimini Road.
Its hard to say where to begin when it comes to Virgil’s. There are so many great things. If you want a few starters you can warm up with the BBQ Wings or the Virgil’s BBQ Nachos, but make sure you save room for the main course. Order a few of the family style BBQ platters for your main course. You can’t go wrong with the Memphis Pork Ribs or the Sliced Texas Brisket. The Kansas City Fried Chicken is also hard to resist. Make sure you grab some sides to go along with your meal. The Collard Greens and Macaroni & Cheese are fan favorites. We won’t even recommend a desert because you probably won’t have room for one.
If you are looking for other restaurants around Atlantis that are great for families try Carmine’s which is from the same owners as Virgil’s and located in Marina Village or Bimini Road for a taste of Bahamian Cuisine.
